I grew up in Hickory, N.C. and attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, N.C. I majored in Physical Education and graduated with a Masters Degree in Physical Education. I also love History, taking as many history electives as possible while at WCU. After teaching PE for 11 years, I decided to change my area to History and Social Studies.
I love the content and enjoy my students immensely. My desire is to impact them with not only the knowledge of our world and our nation, but cause them to want to know more. I also want them to leave my classroom knowing they were loved.
My desire is for my students to not only learn U.S. History but to enjoy learning history. I hope to spark a love for reading and a desire to know the stories behind the people and events we study!
Other subjects that are offered are the Psychology/Sociology class which is full of information about who we are and how we react in our society. Government and Economics is a required course for Seniors and require reading and study-time!
