Margot S. Griggs, Director of Bands
I am from Hartsville, SC where I attended Hartsville High School and was very active in the band program. I was honored to receive several awards, including the nationally recognized John Philip Sousa Award, during my time there. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Instrumental Music Education from Charleston Southern University. I was the recipient of the Horton School of Music's Senior Excellence in Music Education Award, which is presented to the university's most outstanding music education major. I am also a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity, Inc. I stay active in my church where I play in the praise band and on the women's softball team. Prior to this year, I was the Director of Bands at Darlington Middle School and Assistant Director of Bands at Hartsville High School. I absolutely love teaching music and am looking forward to a fantastic first year here in Latta! And last but not least ... GO MARCHING VIKINGS!!!
Announcements
*Friday, September 30th, the Marching Vikings will perform their marching show entitled "Macabre" as a dress rehearsal for their first competition in Lexington on Saturday. The performance will take place after school in Viking Stadium. Feel free to come out and show your support as we prepare to begin our 2011 competition season!
